Bringing people together

We have a number of active colleague networks within the business that bring colleagues together, providing opportunities to share ideas, knowledge and best practice. Our Networks are currently made up of:

Future Generations Network (FGN)

The FGN promotes networking, collaboration and professional development within WWU. It inspires members to grow both personally and professionally and serves as a platform for members to share ideas, voice perspectives and concerns.

The FGN holds various events throughout the year including tree planting alongside other events promoting environmentally responsible practices, opportunities to visit technical sites, upskilling and development opportunities as well as many others.

With over 290 members across the WWU business, from all departments and geographical locations, the FGN is an inclusive and dynamic community, that aims to contribute to the long-term success and resilience of WWU while actively advancing sustainability efforts.

Women's Inclusion Network (WIN)

A community of colleagues focused on championing gender equality by creating a safe space to share and address challenges affecting women while promoting growth and development. We strive to break down stereotypes and celebrate positive role models as we help to build a more inclusive workplace for everyone through advocacy, mentorship and community engagement.

Accessibility Network

Our purpose is to support colleagues who are disabled, have a long-term health condition or neurodivergence, and to support those working with or who are interested in inclusive practices. The network provides a forum to share information, best practice and enable colleagues to bring updates to the group and make recommendations that enhance inclusive working practices at WWU focusing on a “whole person” approach.
